The tree must be set in nice and straight . Steel posts are used for support.The tree goes into the newly dug hole . Roots are covered but the graft union must remain just above the soil level.We use a lot of mulch around the young trees. Notice the thick layer of straw which helps shade the soil and conserve moisture.
