We have already had a bunch of happy groups out here cutting down their Christmas Trees last weekend. Here is an update on what you can expect at our farm this year…

We are open for tree cutting and store sales Tuesday to Friday 10 to 6. We are open weekends 10 to 5.
If you are coming on a weekday you should be prepared to be self sufficient as we are not operating with a full staff outside on the tree farm to help you with tying and loading. We will certainly do all we can to assist you but please keep in mind this a small business with a small number of employees. If you think you may require help with your tree purchase, consider coming on a Saturday or Sunday. On weekends we will have extra help here with wrapping and loading of trees.
Most of our trees this year in the 5 to 9 foot cutting range are going to be Canaan Fir and Balsam Fir. We also have a limited number of Fraser Firs and Blue Spruces. The cost is $75 for any species up to 8′ in height. Taller trees are an extra $10 per foot. Our operating costs have increased significantly, and local demand for fresh cut trees has also increased exponentially in recent years. We have been planting over 1000 trees every year but climate change has drastically reduced the survival rate of our young seedlings. Combined with the severity of our hot dry summers we have been faced with a labor shortage that has made the viability of our Christmas tree plantation very difficult. Production challenges have also met with a higher cost of fuel and other other crop inputs. The price of the netting has also gone up a lot and we are no longer able to provide this service free of charge. Tree netting is now at a cost of $3.
